Rubber Anne
by Audrey Szasz
Schizoid fantasist Mira Nagant lives in the Swiss resort town of Montreux. Her domineering grandmother is determined to find an occupation for her reclusive offspring, but there’s one small problem — the girl has no immediately discernible talent.
The only thing that *is* outwardly remarkable about Mira, is her freakish resemblance to a certain young diarist from Amsterdam, recognised for her time spent in hiding during WWII, and her posthumous international fame. She also possesses what some people might describe as a burgeoning fetish for latex.
That’s when Monsieur R. Dreher enters the picture. He’s famous for his Bellmer-esque sculptures of rubber dolls and mannequins, not to mention his preoccupation with secret annexes, bunkers, and other hideaways.
And when Grandma promises the eccentric artist that he can use Mira for his next big project, our reluctant heroine is drawn into a perverse realm of bizarre appetites and surrealistic passions.
Part 4 of Rubber Anne consists of an audio recording of a “radio play” written by the author and featuring the voices of Audrey Szasz, Martin Bladh, Karolina Urbaniak, and Neo Fung. CD included with each copy of Rubber Anne.
Rubber Anne is the first part of a trilogy with part two expected in January 2025 and part three in 2027.
